EVENT: 2018 Studio Tour is here! It's that time again! The 2018 Topanga Artist Studio Tour is right around the corner...
42 artists will showcase their work in 17 home studios and work spaces among the oaks in beautiful Topanga Canyon. You are invited to get up close and personal, see behind the scenes, watch artist demos, and experience how and where the creativity flows. The Topanga Artists studio tour is a leisurely drive to a series of beautiful locations where art lovers can take their time, see a great variety of artwork, chat with the artists who create it, and share a nibble with friends, neighbors and the artists. Due to the studio locations, many at the artist’s homes, artists are able to show a large selection of their work, often several collections. Visitors can spend as long as they like looking at the work without crowds or distractions. Take a look at LA Weekly's video from a past studio tour, to see what the hype is about! Once again this year, Patrick's home studio on Chamera Lane will show an extensive collection of his photography work, as well as host 4 fellow local artists- the perfect spot to start your tour! Patrick's home studio: 22764 Chamera Lane Wristbands and maps will be available on-site, or you can pre-order your tickets and save $5.00 each. If you missed the festival this past weekend, be sure to mark your calendar for the upcoming Topanga Canyon Artists Studio Tour, happening June 2-3! EVENT: Calabasas Fine Arts Festival 2018Next weekend, Patrick is looking forward to showing his work at the 2018 Calabasas Fine Arts Festival, taking place at The Commons at Calabasas May 5-6, 2018. Last year the festival was a great success, despite wind and rain, and this year promises to be even more fun! With fine art, gourmet food trucks, artist demos, and live music, the festival is an opportunity to bring the family out to browse the work for sale by over 150 artists from the Western US. Patrick will be debuting a new work, Coterie, from his travels to Marrakech. This year's double booth has many exciting new works available in framed and matted formats. We hope to see you there!
EVENT: Women at WorkOpening this week: Women at Work is a new group show at the Topanga Canyon Gallery. Patrick is proud to exhibit a collection of photographs featuring working women, not romanticized or feminized, but interesting and beautiful in their daily state. His photos hang alongside artists Idelle Okman Tzybir, Zoe Topsfield, and Carole Carpenter- working, respectively, in metal, glass, and silk, the three women create art with their chosen elements that are essential to what the viewer experiences in the art itself.
Patrick, the only male artist showing in Women at Work, exhibits a collection of images of women doing physical work to maintain their lives and families- a frequent topic for his photography, and debuting 2 new pieces. He illustrates his subjects as genuine and unadorned- real women. Having Patrick's images, side by side with the work of Carole, Zoe, and Idelle, is intended to invite the visitor to see the soul of all these women through their work. Women at Work runs at Topanga Canyon Gallery From April 18- May 13, with a reception on Saturday, May 28 from 4-7pm.
